Red Ellis RED ELLIS Born December 21, 1929 on a farm near Arkadelphia, Arkansas where he was raised and when 21 years old was drafted into the Army and served in the Korean war and was wounded twice in action. Red became a Christian in 1950 and enjoys more than anything else playing and singing the praises of God. He lives in Ypsilanti, Michigan with wife Agee and 2 children Linda Carrol and Marvin Lynn and is employed at WAAM Radio in Ann Arbor, Mich. as an Engineer & Gospel D.J. His wife, Agee, is helping sing on several numbers in this album. Red plays mandolin & guitar.
Evert Sanders EVERT SANDERS was one of 8 children. He was born in Ranger, West Virginia May 9, 1934. His Father was a coal miner and Evert distinctly remembers the coal camps. When only 16 Months old, the family moved to Kentucky. When he was 16 years old, the family decided to move back to West Virginia. In 1952 Evert came to Michigan. He presently lives in Ypsilanti, Michigan with wife Dorothy and 3 children Mark, Billy and Lorinda. Evert was converted in 1956 and has been serving the Lord ever since. He sings tenor & some lead also plays bass in this album.
Roy Maples ROY MAPLES Born June 20, 1940 in Decatur, Alabama where much of his young years were spent in the cotton fields. At the age of 13 Roy came to Michigan where he now lives with wife Rayetta and 3 children Billy, Pamela and John. Roy's favorite hobby is building race cars. He has built 3 stock cars in the past and now owns a modified 1932 Chevrolet stock car. He started playing music at the age of 17. Roy came to know the Lord as his personal Savior in 1959 and has been singing his praises since. Roy sings lead and all harmony parts plus plays rhythm guitar & bass in this album.
Blaine Rhodes BLAINE RHODES Born in Big Rock, Va. April 10, 1937 and in 1943 the family moved to Freeburn, Kentucky where Blaine recalls his childhood days in the coal camps. At the age of 14 Blaine came to Michigan, and at the age of 16 joined the Marines. After serving 2 years in service, he returned to his childhood home in Kentucky and became interested in musical instruments. He has mastered the electric guitar and also plays banjo. After being out of service he enrolled in an operating Engineers school for heavy equipment in Alabama and after graduating followed the trade for several years but decided to return to Ypsilanti, Michigan where he now resides with wife JoAnn and 3 children Becky, Jeffrey & Lisa Gay. Blaine was converted in 1962 and enjoys more than anything else to play & sing for the Lord.
