...Red was the producer of this album and he is heard on MORE OLD TIME PREACHING, DON'T YOU WANT TO GO WITH ME, I KNOW, I KNOW, I WANT TO TALK WITH JESUS, FIRST LOVE, and WHITE DOVE. He sings the low tenor part in the group harmony.

The strong influence of sacred songs in the Bluegrass and the Country Music field demonstrates that America's rural and mountain people remain deeply religious. The sincerity and profound emotion of Red Ellis and the Huron Valley Boys bring out the spiritual message in this wonderful collection of sacred songs. Good old fashioned harmony singing, with traditional string instruments, played in the mountain Bluegrass style is symbolic of the way our forefathers worshipped and relied on their deep and abiding faith to overcome hardships and develop this wonderful country of ours.

Red Ellis feels that recognition is due to Joe Darty who wrote and performed the recitation on the recording entitled REPENTANCE. Red also acknowledges the assistance of Leonard Styles who played the Mastertone Gibson 5-String Banjo on these recordings, and Ed Clark who wrote and did the vocal on WOODEN ALTAR, and Everett Sanders who did the singing on HIGH WATER, and Roy Maples who sang bass on SEARCHING FOR A SOLDIER'S GRAVE, and Aubrey Davenport who played fiddle and sang high tenor on these recordings, and Bill Christian who played the Gibson mandolin and helped on the vocals on REPENTANCE and IF I COULD HEAR MY MOTHER PRAY AGAIN; also Noland Folkner who is heard on the vocal of TWO LITTLE ROSEBUDS. It is Bill Carpenter who plays the dobro guitar on TWO LITTLE ROSEBUDS and it is Agee Ellis who sings tenor on SEARCHING FOR HIS GRAVE, DON'T YOU WANT TO GO WITH ME and HIGH WATER.
